Internet in Liberia

Liberia is struggling to repair its almost non-existent telecommunications system.  This system was destroyed during the civil war that lasted until 1997.  Data Technology Solutions, Inc.  is the only ISP in Liberia a this time and their service is restricted to Monrovia due to the damaged phone lines.  The company offers full Internet service using a VSAT system but access is not readily available to individuals.  MCI is helping to rebuild communications in the country and there seems to be some hope that they will also establish an Internet link with MCI in the United States.
