Internet in Ethiopia
Ethiopia has full Internet access through the Ethiopian Telecommunications Authority. There are many problems with this system including dialup service not answering or requiring between 10-15 calls before establishing a connection. This ISP is also extremely costly. Set up cost 56 USD with a 34 USD monthly fee for 15 hours of use. Additional hours are 4 USd per hour. There is also a charge of 2.60 USD per hour for local phone calls. Email is available through additional companies like PADISnet but the government seems on maintaining a tight reign on ISPs.
