Internet in Togo

Full Internet services were first provided in Togo by the Centre d'Assistance de Formation et d'Etude.  Togotel, has since installed its own national hub providing an 800 number service with local call tariffs for Internet access throughout the
country is also available and the company is experimenting with local fax and voice over IP services.  In January '99 there were 1700 Internet accounts.  An unlimited dialup account subscription costs about 10 000FCFA per month.  Dialup access to the Internet through Togotel costs 60FCFA/ 4 minutes.  Cafe dialup Internet costs 50 000 FCFA / Month.
