The University of Zambia's Internet project was steadily built up into a the first Sub-Saharan full Internet provider
outside South Africa - ZamNet. The telecommunications network in Zambia has improved substantially over the last few years, but is still at a
very low level of development. Zamnet: $25/month Full Internet Access. Local calls cost US2.5/hr peak, US$1.5/hr off-peak.
